It has nothing to do with JAWS. I just disable the agent; and have found (and
have also seen other messages - on other llists - confirming) that Winamp has
become increasingly more buggy. (It tries to play files that it cannot, like
some .asx files which Windows Media Player can play no problem.) If you want
to try with the Winamp Agent enabled, go with it.

I have heard that several years ago, and that is why I raised the question.
Do you know if it is still an issue with XP and recent versions of JAWS?

It has been known to be involved in errors necessitating computer restarts.

    What harm is it, please?

Disable it from the System Tray; and do not install it in the future. (You
do this by unchecking it, in the list of items that comes up during
installation.)

Does this still create conflicts with current versions of JAWS? If so,
is it adequate to disable it from the system tray or do I need to
uninstall/reinstall WinAmp and this time not install that component? Thanks.
