?Facebook is like going to the next door bar and chatting with your drinking
boddies. But you do it on cyberspace. It is very complicated and I only do it
to chat and maybe post something I really like or something I want my friends
to know about. But you can do more on it, but for that, you should ask your son
(or grandson, it depends on the generation gap) or any youth you are familiar.
Facebook has over 450 million subscribers, so I really think that chances are
you know someone that facebook's.

Subject: What is Facebook?

Dear Friends,
Of course I have heard a lot about
Facebook
But to be honest, I am not sure what it is exactly.
Is it like personal Web sites or such?
And are they connectible, I mean, you pick a group of people you wish to
share yours with and vise versa?
  is that the big thing?

I just do not see what the appeal in them is!

But I suppose people could say that about my Chess Group for the Blind!
  LOL!

Okay, okay. I admit it. I was duped. I apologize for posting that bogus
report. But to be perfectly blunt, some people don't seem to have a life
beyond Facebook. Their whole world revolves around it. Anyone who can't get
through the day without Facebook has a serious problem and probably needs
help. Once again, I'm sorry for creating such a ruckus.

Don't think Zuckerberg even bothers responding to shit like this. Anyway a
thing like this would be news of the year and you won't be able to watch a
minut of tv with out hearing about it, something as big won't be left to flowt
around via email

Based on the number of Facebook questions posted on this list, any major
change to Facebook would certainly be relevant. Again, if the report is false,
so be it. In any case, I haven't seen any denials from Zuckerberg, so who
knows what's really going on?

No, you don't report. You clutter and spread misinformation that you
don't bother to verify. This is absurd and a waste of time on every level.

Even more importantly, what's this got to do with Jaws?

I report, you decide. That's all I can say. Maybe it's true. Maybe
it's not. We shall see.

This has to be a fraud. First, the site is owned by a corporation and
Zuckerberg, as an individual, doesn't have that authority. Second, it is
unimaginable that a company with a market cap of $65 Billion would suddenly go
poof because of the personality quirks of its CEO. What about those investors?
Many of them are pension funds.

The next thing we'll hear is that the Easter Bunny is boycotting
chocolate eggs.

I think you have been had. If there had been a real press release
like this, it would have been all over the news.

At first I thought this was some kind of practical joke, but it sure
sounds real. Read it and weep:

PALO ALTO, CA -Mark Zuckerberg announced that Facebook will be shut
          down in March.
Managing the site has become too stressful.
"Facebook has gotten out of control," said Zuckerberg in a press
          conference outside
his Palo Alto office, "and the stress of managing this company has
          ruined my life.
I need to put an end to all the madness."
Zuckerberg went on to explain that starting March 15th, users will no
          longer be able
          to access their Facebook accounts.
"After March 15th the whole website shuts down," said Avrat Humarthi,
          Vice President
of Technical Affairs at Facebook. "So if you ever want to see your
          pictures again,
I recommend you take them off the internet. You won't be able to get
          them back once
          Facebook goes out of business."
Zuckerberg said that the decision to shut down Facebook was difficult,
          but that he
does not think people will be upset.
"I personally don't think it's a big deal," he said in a private phone
          interview.
"And to be honest, I think it's for the better. Without Facebook,
          people will have
to go outside and make real friends. That's always a good thing."
Some Facebook users were furious upon hearing the shocking news.
"What am I going to do without Facebook?" said Denise Bradshaw, a high
          school student
from Indiana. "My life revolves around it. I'm on Facebook at least 10
          hours a day.
Now what am I going to do with all that free time?"
However, parents across the country have been experiencing a long
          anticipated sense
          of relief.
"I'm glad the Facebook nightmare is over," said Jon Guttari, a single
          parent from
Detroit. "Now my teenager's face won't be glued to a computer screen
          all day. Maybe
I can even have a conversation with her."
Those in the financial circuit are criticizing Zuckerberg for walking
          away from a
multibillion dollar franchise. Facebook is currently ranked as one of
          the wealthiest
businesses in the world, with economists estimating its value at
          around 7.9 billion.
But Zuckerberg remains unruffled by these accusations. He says he will
          stand by his
decision to give Facebook the axe.
"I don't care about the money," said Zuckerberg. "I just want my old
          life back."
The Facebook Corporation suggests that users remove all of their
          personal information
from the website before March 15th. After that date, all photos,
          notes, links, and
          videos will be permanently erased.

          Gerald
