Well, I found the key but software had to be installed to make everything work. It is a full size KB -- keys are just in rather odd spots.I do still have a question, however, about rearranging start menu by name. Would someone who does that all the time please briefly explain? I've always been one to pretty much work with what I've got in whatever shape it's in but the older I get, the more interested I am getting in making things easier. I do tend to wrestle with things a lot.Karen----- Original Message ----- From: "Soronel Haetir" <soronel.haetir@xxxxxxxxx>To: <jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Monday, January 25, 2010 7:46 PM Subject: Re: Was Re: Classic start menu: Applications keyThe Function key is generally a hardware combination trigger. My laptop for example has an Fn key that combined with another key press will control speaker volume or print screen (since it lacks that as a separate key). Your keyboard documentation or a sighted user should be able to tell you about any such combinations. If you are talking about a full sized kb I would be amazed if it doesn't have an APP key. Compact keyboards are another matter and I don't care for them. With my bookport, I used that key all thetime. I stopped using the bookport pretty much. A few weeks ago I switched to a Logitech wireless keyboard. Imagine my surprise when I can now find no"applications" key. To the right of my spacebar is alt, function (which seems to do nothing) and control. To the left is alt, windows key and control. No applications key? Anybody else have a similar keyboard? I've never thought to try the context menu while in the program menu list. But there it is: sort by name! And now I've discovered a much quicker way to jump into the file folderfor the start menu, as well. Saves a lot of time. Makes my day, and my joining this list worthwhile. You just have to remember to use the Sort by Name option on the Context menu whenever you update the Start or Favorites menus. This isreally no big deal. I am using the classic start menu withpersonalised menus disabled. When I add an item to the start menu or the favorites menu, it still appears at the bottom of the list until I pressapplications and select sort by name. How can I have menu items sortedalphabetically automatically? Thanks!
