  Hi Dana,

  Try the following:

  Open your Control Panel,

Locate Sound and Audio Devices and open it,

Tab to the check box âPlace volume icon in the task barâ, and press the
space bar to check it.

Apply using Alt + a, and hit Enter for OK.

Close the Control Panel. Normally, the volume icon should appear in your
System Tray. Please let us know if detailed navigation is needed.

  Good luck!

  Adam

anyone else know anything about how to correct this.

      Hello,

Not sure what the problem is, however I am experiencing the same thing.
I am running windows xp home and jfw 6.2. This problem just started.

On the Volume tab of the Sounds and Audio Devices dialogue of Control
Panel, I have the check box checked to show the Volume Control icon in the
system tray. But it does NOT appear in the system tray, even after I reboot.
Does anyone know what might be going on here -- whether this is a Windows XP
issues, a JAWS 6.20 issues, or what?

        Thanks.

        Blessed Be,

        Dana
