I don't see any autocomplete checkbox in the general tab of options in windows mail in vista.

I assume you clicked on tools/options/general tab?  IF so, I think I can
guess what's going on. My initial experience was that I needed to complete 
more of an e-mail address in Windows Mail than I did in Outlook Express.
Also, Once you actually send an e-mail, Windows Mail tends to remember that 
address the next time you use the same letters to start an e-mail address.
So, as a result, you might find that there will be quite a few occasions
where the "please select whom you mean by..." dialog popping up.  HTH.

Thanks!  That really helped.  I still do not understand why the auto
complete of addresses does not work.  I made sure it was checked in the
tools menu...

One more point I wish to add.  This is critically important.  When you
first
enter contacts from Windows Mail, you must, (without using arrow keys to
select anything), press alt+v for view menu. From there, choose customize 
this folderr.  From that point, choose all items.  IF you do not do this,
you will not be able to navigate in your contacts list.

The address book is now called contacts and you can access it with
shift+CTRL+c.

First, is there a "tips and tricks" tutorial anywhere that deals with
Windows Mail?
Also, I imported my Outlook Express Contacts list to Windows Mail but I
do
not know how to easily access it. I have gone to the tools menu and made 
sure that the box to automatically complete email addresses is check.
Yet, when I open a new message and start to type in an email address, it
does not complete it.  Any suggestions on accessing the address book or
general suggestions would be appreciated.
