I assume you clicked on tools/options/general tab? IF so, I think I can guess what's going on. My initial experience was that I needed to complete more of an e-mail address in Windows Mail than I did in Outlook Express. Also, Once you actually send an e-mail, Windows Mail tends to remember that address the next time you use the same letters to start an e-mail address. So, as a result, you might find that there will be quite a few occasions where the "please select whom you mean by..." dialog popping up. HTH.
