Its seems like it is a wireless connection problem but you didn't tell us
how far away you were from your wireless router or modem.

When attempting to update the jaws beta I get a message that my internet
connection failed and to establish a connection prior to updating.
I do not get a message about a firewall blocking the process.
I have XP home.
I am using a wireless connection and wondering if that is problematic for
others, or wherein lies the problem.
 I did unload the beta then restart it before attempting the update as
suggested by FS.

Appreciate  suggestions.

I have not been able to install the update either. It says to call Freedom
Scientific and the item failing to install is a patch.
Has anyone been able to successfully install this update?
