Unmuting my computer

Hello all, several times I have accidentally muted all systems sounds in the
windows' sounds control panel, which included of course loosing any speech.
Can anyone tell me how to set up a hotkey or workaround that will uncheck
the mute check box so I won't require sighted help again. Last time this
happened I was able to usea friend's Pacmate as an external synthisizer, via
Pac,ate desktop, to go in and uncheck it myself but the likelyhood of having
that available to me next time this happens is slim. Any suggestions?
