hope i'm not imagining things. except once i think, i experience no more crashes on my almost worn out school laptop eversince i'm running jfw as a service, something i ran into every now and then previously when i loaded jaws as an application. i remember the time jaws crashed, relaunching it via the shortcutkey i created, had jaws up and running again which wasn't the case previously until i restarted the machine.

thanks again for sharing.

OK. When JAWS runs as an application, it will not speak at the log on
prompts, nor will it speak in any other Windows-based password
dialogues, such as when you unlock your computer. JAWS will also quit
before Windows shuts down, making you have no speech during the shut
down process. However, if JAWS runs as a service then it will speak
those, plus it will speak until your computer's shut down. Hope this
helps.

Hello Chris, I did it. I thought the spaces were not part of the syntax

I see as oppose to running JAWS as an application rather than a service.
Again, please let me apologize to all for probably asking a question that
was already asked and answered, but i missed it because I was having
server
problems and had to wipe everything from my gmail inbox and lost the
post.
