Thunderbird automatic checking of email

In reply to the lister who asked about Thunderbird automatically checking the e-mail server at regular intervals like Outlook Express do the followint in thunderbird:

1. go to the top of the folder list, "LOCAL" 2. tab once and hit enter, this is a button but the spacebar doesn't work. 3. press home 4. arrow down to server settings and tab several times until you find it you will know then set values accordingly and tab to OK and hit enter.
