Actually, one of the techs here at work solved my problem another way, so that I can now use the escape key again to get out of a read message and back into my inbox.
She went to tools; options; advanced; then reading and display; and then to "open messages in new message window".
It seems to work now. Tom Behler in Colorado----- Original Message ----- From: "Chris Hallsworth" <christopherh40@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx>

I am, as messages are opened in tabbed windows now rather than separate windows. To me this is not a big deal as I found, through the file menu, that closing an item is ctrl+w, and it works for message tabs. Alternatively, whilst in the main Thunderbird window, press the F8 key to turn on the message pain, and press the F6 key to move to it. Hope this helps.Chris Hallsworth e-mail: christopherh40@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx MSN: ch9675@xxxxxxxxxxx Skype: chrishallsworth7266 I am also on Facebook. Well, yesterday, on the work computer, I installed Thunderbird 3 to see if Jaws would work better with it, as some folks on the list have suggested. In general, it does seem that Jaws tracks better with Thunderbird when reading received e-mails, or replies to e-mails. I will know more today, once I work with it more. However, I do have one strange problem that I would appreciate some helpwith.I can get into a message in my in-box with no problem, simply by hittingenter on that message as usual. However, once I'm into the message, I can'tget out of it. In other words, I can't exit the message using the escapekey as I typically have done in the past. Is there something I need to configure in Jaws or Thunderbird 3 to get this function back? I have to believe it's a simple configuration issue. Any help would be appreicated. Thanks as always!
