What version of jaws are you using I had issues when I had jaws 9 but not with jaws 10.

Yes, I use insert-z to turn off the virtual cursor once I get to the body of a message. If I don't, nothing is typed in the body, and JAWS unhelpfully tries to indicate that there are no anchors, comboboxes, or other quick-key access things on the page. I'm going to double-check and see that I'm composing in text-only and not HTML.

thanks,

What's the issue with html messages I type new messages as I normally would and have no reason to need to turn nursers on or off.

Hi Teresa, have you tryed using the jaws key and pressing the letter Z when your in a message to write? This toggles the verturil cursor on and off. When I'm in a message I turn it off and when I finished it and hit alt S to send I turn it back on again. I do this in windows live mail most of the time because Jaws doesn't always go to the main body after tabin from the subject line to the message. A little bit annoying but at least there is a walk around. lol Hope this helps you out. Let me know.

I am using it with a lot of success, except for a small problem with having to turn the virtual cursor off when composing a new message. I need it to read HtML messages, however, so I'm reluctant to set it to off permanently in JAWS configuration Manager.

I hope I spelled it correctly.
How well does Thunderbird work with JAWS? Can one specify message rules as one can in OE & Outlook?
Anything else you can enlighten me about would be much appreciated.

Thanks.
