Okay, to put an end to the debate on the JFW demo, I checked with FS. Turns out that the downloadable demo is the forty-minute demo, not a forty-day trial. The trial version (it's a sixty-day trial) is purchased for a low price from FS. If you then decide to purchase JAWS, that price is put toward the cost of the full product. The differences, primarily, between downloading the full version and using it as a demo without an auth disk and downloading the demo version are (1) the demo version will not even ask for an auth disk, and (2) the demo version expires in July of 2004. So nothing has changed with this version from previous versions in terms of authorization or demos. FS is still working on all the promised changes to authorization and will release more information in the coming months. Hope this helps everyone and answers the question of demos once and for all.
