    Hi Jim,
Thanks for solving the mystery. is it safe to say that jaws sees the tag
but it is not displayed on the screen?

yard bird the message does not have the word in it. o e converts
everything that it gets in to html. the body tag is message so that is why the
word is there. it is just a body tag nothing to lose sleep over.

ah. I did all that-- had OE send out my message below in HTML-- and it
didn't produce the superfluous word "message" at the head of the message. No,
it's something else that's doing it.

But I don't care that much, not enough to go on worrying over it. All
done, mommy.

Okay. I'm originating this message with OE set in its options to send
in HTML, and the JFW List message entry in the address book *not* checked to
send
        in plain text only.
And, no, I am not about to type the word "message" at the top of this.
:-) So if it appears, then that will be a clue.
