I had the same problem, too. I use a braille display, use Jaws 6.2 with XP home. I was able to get rid of the login screen by deleting the account that was automatically set up after I put Service Pack 2 in. I don't remember exactly how I did it, though.

Hi, similar problem here. For the last couple of versions, I can't get Jaws to start automaticallyy with braille. Jaws comes up, but no braille. I have to close Jaws down and then restart to have speech with braille. So, I've given up and just start Jaws with a hotkey after the desktop comes up. Using XP and Jfw 6.2.

That's my problem. Run Jaws has been checked from when I loaded this version. However, I'm still using 6.0 and that's why I'm questioned as far as which version that the login screen is supposed to be read. I never paid attention to whether it was being read before considering I was the only account on this computer until Saturday. It fortunate enough to have a few eyes around to see when something isn't working properly. If I go to the login screen and tab twice and then I have to start Jaws with the hotkey. When I had to take that route in order to get up and running I thought at was time to starting asking some questions.

Hi Dave,

If you have jaws set up to run first, which you can do in your options menu under the basics selection, it should automatically start talking when the log-in screen appears. It's a checkbox that says automatically start jaws. Just make sure it's checked, and you should be all set.

I know this subject was spoken on quite a lot sometime ago. However, I failed to keep any notes on the Login Screen. Which version was JFW suppose to start speaking the Login screen? I'm using Windows XP Home with JFW
