Renette,

thanks very much for the clarification. Narrator, by the way, I believe is
the name of the primitive speech system provided with Windows XP that some
Jaws users are able to use in emergency situations to help them with basic
tasks like shutting down or rebooting their computers properly. It isn't the
kind of speech capability you'd use for anything the way we use jaws with
Eloquence voices or any of the other synthesized voices I know others may
use. There's just a way to turn on this function and navigate its controls
and use it to operate the computer in a very minimal way.

Subject: TextAloud: correcting two mistakes

Hi All

I made two mistakes when giving out information on TextAloud. 1 Somebody
mentioned that "narrator" is used as the voice and asked if Sapi voices
can be used.
I now think this person was referring to "audible help" in the menu.

I said yes, but I am taking this back. I do not know. I thought the
inquiry was about voices to read the converted file.

2 Then, the following is correct:
Creating Audio Files

TextAloud can create audio files from text. These files can be .wav, .mp3,
or .wma files.

Thanks Yardbird for pointing out this "confusion".

Renette
