i have had that problem with jaws 8 and 9 as well, you will need to go and download the full update from freedomscientific in order to update.

Legend has it that on Saturday 1/26/2008 11:25 PM, Christopher Gilland said:
What's really weird is both on my XP and on my Vista machines, I've tried going to help, update, and it sees that new update yall speak of, but it won't download. It gives me an error, but it isn't specific at all what is wrong aside saying try repair jfw, or that some files may a been deleted or renamed. I've done neither a that. the only thing I've done is modify jfw.ini so that my jaws comes out my on board sound and all else out my Delta sound card.

Yes I did try repairing on both systems with no success. This is xp pro, and the other system's Vista Ultimate.

Chris.

I have this message about 2 weeks ago when jaws9 was woken from sleep on my laptop.

Odd, I think I remember a bug in JFW 7 that did something similar but this is the first I have heard of anything like this in JFW 9. Can you duplicate it?

Subject: Ten-Minute Demonstration Mode of JAWS?

Hi everyone. Just a few minutes ago while I was away from my computer and at my new Yamaha keyboard something strange happened. A message popped up which of course was read by JAWS. It said, "Thank you for using this ten-day demo of JAWS." Then it said for more information about the product or to place an order call Freedom Scientific. I came back and unlocked my computer, and read the title bar with JAWS key +T and everything was back to normal. I even brought the JAWS window into focus and checked in the About JAWS dialogue to make sure I was still using the full version, and it said I was. In fact I'm using the new update to version 9.0 just released, version 9.0.552. Anyone else ever experience this scenario?

Jake
