Hi, Joseph. No, I haven't isolated the problem, and I suppose I'll
eventually need to have someone look at the screen. I can tell you this
much. I'm using XP. The only applications I've had open when these freezes
occur are Outlook 2003, WordPerfect 12 and sometimes IE8.

With the same applications open, the problem did not occur in JAWS 11 before
the current update, and it still doesn't occur when I resort to JAWS 10.

In response to Dave's suggestion, I promise to perform no repairs on JAWS
11. However, I hesitate to contact FS and risk having them change settings
that might create new problems. It wouldn't be the first time. I'll wait
until I have something more specific to report.

Hi, Have you identified the situation that causes this "problem" - odd
words, odd windows, odd system settings, etc. If that's known, we'll be able
to isolate a particular problem or two. Cheers, Joseph

Subject: System Seizes Up with Latest JAWS 11 Update

Since I installed the latest JAWS 11 update on Sunday, my system frequently
goes silent. I can't close JAWS and get it to restart, nor does my "Kill
JAWS" icon work as it has done in the past. I also can't get JAWS to work
from the run dialog.

Sometimes I can get other functions to work, such as a computer restart, but
often not.

I've now made JAWS 10 my default, and the system is working fine, except
that I miss some of JAWS 11's features, most of all placemarker anchoring.

Any ideas before I notify FS?
