1. activate jaws configuration manager.
2. alt s for set option.
3. select customize punctuation.
4. tab to the advance button and activate it.
5. scroll down the list to blank.
6. tab to change description button and activate it.
7. press space bar once for a space.

  Well it won't say anything, since you told it to not do so when blank is 
encountered. So yes this may result in missing words, but unless Freedom 
Scientific implements such a feature, that's the only way I could think of for

      1. Open Dictionary Manager with insert d.
      2. Press shift control d to open the default file.
      3. Press enter on the add button. 
      4. In the actual word edit field, type blank, that's b l a n k
      5. In the replacement word edit field, simply put a space.
      6. Press enter to add it to the dictionary.
      7. Close out of Dictionary Manager, answering yes to the prompt to save 
the file.
