I did all that.
JAWS won't tell you that the word is misspelled until you move the
cursor back over the word.
If, as you type, you were audibly alerted, as the sighted user is
visually alerted, you could arrow back, press shift plus F-10, and
correct the misspelling instantly.
In a long document with lots of unusual words, e.g., foreign names, that
would be lots faster than trying to check the whole document or even
highlighting certain portions to check.
I don't think Sound Manager is going to do the trick.
A pretty sophisticated JFW script might watch for spaces, periods,
semicolons, commas, and the like.
One of those symbols would then trigger an attribute check of the
previous word. If the curvy underline appears, the script could simply
beep.

I am not sure if this is what you want, but try turning on spelling and
grmmar in the jaws verbosity options. Also in word options make sure
check spelling and grammar as you type is checked. Roy

If anybody succeeds in doing what Ed suggests, please announce it,
because I would love that ability. I don't think speech and sounds
manager has the flexibility for it.
