Hello

the laptop key combination for accessing the system tray is the caps lock key and F11.

Happy surfing

I don't know the laptop keystroke to get to the system tray where volume
is, but you can also find it under the start menu, programs,
accessories, entertainment and arrow down to volume and enter. It is the
slider for playback and can be changed with control page up or down.

----- Original Message ----- Hi,
Someone was asking about the speech on my new laptop. It's quite loud.
Can
someone tell me how to get to the task bar and turn the volume down?

I have optimum on line which in New York State is cablevision. My
husband
and I both have it and we love it. It is also our phone service and,
after
figuring a regular phone line and the price of separate internet
service it
worked out to be cheaper. If you already have cable in your house you
wouldn't have to pay to bring the service into the house, it is already
there. Cable is easy to work with and you can toggle between the net,
email and whatever other program you are using. In short, I think the
service is great, very compatible with jaws and cost effective. Hth,
Judith

Hi list,
I have a few questions about the aforementioned services. (DSL or a
cable
modem)
Which would you recommend for use with JAWS or does it make a
difference?

I am getting pretty tired of this 56-K modem. However, I want
something
that will work pretty efficiently with JAWS and won't put too much
stress
on my computer.
I am thinking about signing up with Bellsouth. They have been
advertising
their $24.95 per month deal for DSL service. Is this pretty
reasonable?
Also, are the modems pretty easy to set up if I want to do it myself?
What about a cable modem? my household is currently signed up with
Time
Warner, which is now owned by Comcast I believe.
What I want to know is the advantages and disadvantages of each
service.
I will list my system properties for my laptop below. I also have a
docking station.

System Properties
Microsoft Windows XP
Home Edition
Version 2002
Service Pack 2
Manufactured and supported by: HP
             Intel(R)
Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.20GHz
3.19 GHz, 1.00 GB of RAM

Thanks and I hope to hear from you all soon!

Happy New Year!
AC
