I don't think you have a choice. For instance if "this particular text that 
I have in quotes" is read with a different voice, the Voice Alias is 
working, if not then it isn't working. It use to read with a different 
voice and pitch automatically but now it does not. It comes in very handy 
when running across quoted text. I've looked to see if there is somewhere 
you turn it on or off but there is no such place. And the Applications key, 
after running a maintenance still speeks after having it checked off to 
mute. JFW says to uninstall Jaws if you are having difficulty and reinstall 
the latest version but if you uninstall it, and then need to go to a web 
page to install the latest updated version , how are we suppose to 
navigate? Hmmm.
