Special Character Equivalent List

Using the Alt + Num Pad keys one can insert special characters such as the
division sign into a word document. Jaws does not read the "Character Map" in
Windows XP very well and the listings that I have found on the web are images,
which Jaws does not read. Is there an accessible list of the character
equivalents available?
