Hi Alan, Well, I believe the Toshiba laptops are very close in price to the HP ones. I believe my daughter paid around $600 for hers and it is a 64 bit, 4 gig ram, 500 GB hard drive jobbie. I think she also has the Athlon processor as I do. Now, if you want the very latest and fastest processor then you will pay through the nose and other orafices.
