Odd, I turned my messages to 1 line, but they aren't announced as unread even though I haven't opened them yet... I'm wondering if you guys know how I can keep the curser from tripping out when I first open messages that take a little while to load? My curser sometimes jumps to the subject line for some reason and if I have hit the down arrow it spams me with the beep telling me I can't go down a line in the subject box. Also, sometimes that a message doesn't have a contact and jumps me out of forms mode and even if I'm not careful jumps me back into the subject line. I'm wondering if there is maybe some way to disable this odd behavior with Jaws?

I would also suggest whilst in the layout screen that you also disable the reading pane as this isn't much use to jaws users, increases the time for moving through the message list with slow connections and can increase the likelyhood of getting a virus.Peter -------------------------------------------------- From: "David Bailes" <david_bailes@xxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Friday, October 08, 2010 1:35 PM To: <jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Subject: Re: Some help with making windows live mail easier to work withHi Dana,The following assumes that you've got windows live mail 2009 installed. There'sa more recent version - 2011, but Jaws doesn't read this very well at the moment. There's a setting for how messages are displayed in the message list which can affect whether jaws says unread, attachment etc when appropriate. The options are automatic, two line view, and one line view. On the automatic setting, which is the default, the message is displayed either as two or one lines, depending on the space available. Jaws can read unread etc with the one line view, but not with the two line view, so it's safest to change this option to one line view.To do this: 1. Open the layout dialog from the view menu. 2. tab to the message list button, and press space bar.3. the three options are now displayed. tab to the one line view check box, and press spacebar to check it. Note that visually these options are displayed as radio buttons, but for some reason they behave like check boxes when usingkeyboard navigation. 4. press the ok button.
