Hi Dorothy, it's not. It's for people who are at work and who requires a proxy connection. Research It does have some UK-based sources, but most are US yet. Think about it; FS are in the US so they are bound to include US-related sources.

A proxy server is an intermediary between your computer and the server
hosting the network. It's like a firewall really. It supposedly helps
organizations by allowing administrators to control what is and isn't
allowed on the network.

Subject: Solved: Using Research It in a proxy environment

Hello all,
I have received the following from Freedom Scientific regarding how to
use Research It in a proxy environment. Hope this helps any or all of you.

Begin message
Thank you for contacting Freedom Scientific technical Support. See the
below:
If you have trouble running Research It, and your computer uses a proxy
server to connect to the Internet, try the following:

While JAWS is running, open Internet Explorer.
Press ALT+T to open the Tools menu and then select Internet Options.
Press CTRL+TAB to navigate to and open the Advanced page.
Press H to navigate to the HTTP 1.1 Settings, and then select both Use
HTTP
1.1 through proxy connections and Use HTTP 1.1.
Select OK.
Restart JAWS.
