Hello,

A soft phone is simply a telephone that is implemented in software that runs
on your computer. It utilizes your sound card with microphone and speakers
or, better still, a pair of headphones with a microphone included. If you
use Skype, it is similar, only it is intended to replace a regular telephone
and is typically used in business environments.

I missed something, I guess. What's a Soft Phone and how is tit related to
Jaws? I was imagining a land line phone handset with big, spongy buttons.
But I guess that isn't it. Thanks.

I am not sure witch one I have. When I downloaded a program, this came with
it. I did not know that this came with it until I saw it on my computer.
With Soft Phone, I can call computer to computer or computer to land line.
Can I do the same with Skype?

  Hello Andy,

There are a number of these "soft phone" implementations on the market.
Which one are you asking about specifically? There's an accessible solution
that works with Cisco call managers. Check out:

  http://www.ipblue.com

There's another, newer, solution that is accessible for a number of other
PBX systems:

  http://www.tenacitycorp.com

Both solutions are known to be accessible.

Does anyone know any thing about Soft Phone? How well does it work, and
how well does it work with Jaws?
