I wonder if you might have turned on sticky keys by mistake. A dialogue
box comes up if I hit shift five times. I haven't wanted to experiment
with keeping it on.

Some how I occasionally press a key combination and from then on no
matter
where I am, when I press a arrow key JAWS says "selected"?
Once upon a Time I could get out of this, but not now, darn!
JAWS will not say the line or letter, it will say "selected", When JAWS
says
"selected" I can press the number pad 5 key and the letter will be
pronounced or if it is a line by pressing JFW key and 8 on the number
pad it
will say the line, but in all instances I have to do two things to hear
what
I am on?
I am using JFW 6.2, and Windows XP.
