Teresa,
Using Control+JAWS Key+f only works to find specific text in a document if
you have Acrobat Reader set up to read the entire document rather than
single pages. Otherwise, this command will only find the text if it
exists on the page you are reading.

In an accessible pdf document, you can use the JAWS key control-insert-f
to find specific text.
