I hope you'll find your Kurzweil because it's a good product. I use it
almost every day. If you could retrieve the Serial Number or the Invoice,
I'm sure Kurzweil Educational Systems will assist you in getting another
installation CD, or better, an update. Now, regarding Jaws and non
conventional OCRs for Windows 98 and XP, there's a good one, quite
accessible, and maybe the cheapest on earth. It's called cuneiform Pro 6.0.
It scans and recognize in seconds if you have a good scanner. I did install
it last year in someone's computer running 98 and I've provided full
instructions for access with Jaws. Right now, they have a special rate, $69
until December 15 2004. Normally the real price is $129. So $69 is a good
price compared to several hundreds. This is the kind of product I would
include in my Adaptive Survival Kit. You can download a demo from the same
web page, and try it with your combo scanner. It works fine and fast with
Epson flatbed scanners. And you can also buy it online. Her is the web

do you know if this works with windows 98?
I can't find my kurzweil cd to reinstall version 7, and I have an hp all in
one scanner/coper/printer. I am hoping to be able to use this for scanning,
but every time I've tried it doesn't come out, I get an image file. It does
have an ocr with it.
