I've been using Nod32 for a year now and in my opinion, it's the best, hands
down.
Ditch Norton as quickly as possible and whatever you do, stay well clear of
Mcafee, too. In some respects, I think Mcafee's worse than Norton in that
it invades your system like a metastatic cancerous growth and is a royal
pain to disable and/or to get rid of. Trust me on this one. It's a drag.
Go with Nod32 and don't look back. You'll be glad you did.

As I've said lots of times already, but maybe you didn't see them, you
absolutely can not go wrong with NOD 32 from:

Norton puts itself in a lot of places on your computer, but a standard
uninstall of the program should remove most traces of it, enough that it'd
be safe to install another antivirus program. It's never a good idea to
have 2 antivirus programs installed on the same machine, at least that's
always been my experience. As I told others the advantage of NOD 32 is
the fact that it doesn't get in your way, it doesn't slow down your
computer while scanning for viruses, it updates itself in the background
and if something does happen, it presents you a simple window that lets
you decide which action to take. When you install NOD 32 however, do a
custom install, and make sure that the custom graphical interface is not
turned on. You can always turn it off after you install the program, but
if it may present some issues with JAWS if you keep it on. Others on the
list are using it too so if you need help in disabling the graphics, just
ask. After using Nod 32 I'll never use anything else. I swear by it. It
does cost a little bit of money, but for the protection it offers, it's an
invaluable solution. plus it's accessible with JAWS, and it just plane
works.

new program before uninstalling Norton? I would deactivate Norton, but
I'm wondering if it would be easier to keep Norton on my system in the
event that I don't like the new program and choose to return to Norton.
