Recompile

Hello!
Please excuse me if this is a duplicate. However, since I did not get a copy
of this I am assuming that my message did not get through.
Here I go again!
Please excuse my ignorance on this topic - what does "recompile" really mean?
I've got five new scripts to recompile. I moved them to:
c:\jaws50\settings\enu
Then I hit IN+F2 keys which popped up a menu and I highlighted Scripts and
pressed the enter key. Popped up was the first script and I hit Control+SO
keys to save the files. Nothing happened but I exited from the file. What I
was trying to do did not work!
So what was I really supposed to do, please?
