Hi, yes JAWS will read the login screen under Vista, even if multiple accounts don't have JAWS loading at startup.

I think vista and jaws 9 does have this capability.

We have an xp laptop that I share with my wife at home, and she just
closes jaws.  It's easier for her to do that than it is for me to
reliably start jaws manually.

Have you also tried having separate accounts on the computer
it self?  This
way your settings will work for you when you want to use
jaws, and when the
other person wants to use the computer they would log in as a
user and they
wouldn't have to think about turning off jaws.  Does this
make since?  I
