Hi Dave, the more I use this silent mode with my braille display the more I 
like it. Just press insert, control, and the letter s. You will be in the 
changed synths. press the end key, and you should land on no speech. Just 
press enter, and then just use your braille display. It is possible to use 
msn with no speech. If interested let me know, and I will tell you how. If 
you want or need speech back in a hurry, just press insert, control, and the 
letter s. Press your home key, and that will land you in your default speech 
synth which will usually be at the top of the list. Press enter, and your 
speech will be turned back on.
