Hey, Gezim!

Okay, my friend, I had this very same problem. I am betting that you have Norton anti-virus on your computer, as well you should! At least, you should have some form of anti-virus program, but I digress... here are the instructions to fix your problem:

You have an Office plug-in checked that shouldn't be checked. Here is the fix:

Open Norton's User Interface

Open the options portion of that interface

Activate the JAWS curser by pressing insert plus num pad minus

Arrow to the word Miscellaneous

Press num pad slash to activate the miscellaneous section

Tab to the "Enable Microsoft Products Plug-Ins" check box.

Uncheck it.

Tab to the OK button and hit enter.

Press Alt plus F four to exit. You are done!

I must give credit to Jana Jackson, my dear Christian Contemporary singer friend, for those instructions, because she saved all of the hair on my head by giving them to me! Have fun...

Hi Gezim,

Hit enter on the markup option to uncheck it.

Also, in Word 2003, try the print view.

Other things are as you suggested, but I could not uncheck "mark up". I
tried doing it by pressing space bar, but it didn't work.

Best wishes and regards,
Gezim

sometimes I also have that problem. It sometimes work if you read
the document in normal view. choose normal from the view menu. make sure
only the standard and formatting toolbars are checked under the view menu
and make sure mark up is unchecked under the view menu as well.

Subject: Problem with MS Word and JAWS

Hi list,

I've been experiencing a kind of strange problem with MS Word.
Basically, the problem is that I cannot read properly in a Word document,
for instance, even if I try to arrow down, JAWS will get stuck and only read
the line on which it was focussed, not allowing me to read the lines below.
However, if I am at the end of the document, then I can arrow up and read
the text from bottom to top. Until now I was using JAWs 6 and once I
dowloaded demo version of JAWS 7, which proved to work properly with Word,
and which made me decide to purchase JAWS 7. Now today I installed JAWS 7,
but the problem with Word has remained exactly the same. I am using Word
2003.

I am frustrated because on Tuesday morning I have to take a
translation test for a job!

Best regards,
Gezim
