RE: Problem with JFW 11 and Autoarchiving in Outlook Express

Ray and Dave,

I no longer use Outlook Express, but two thoughts about Oe's archive and
compacting, which I believe are different animals:

1. Dave, your recommendation to turn off auto archive is consistent with
what I was urged to do. Once turned off, it never became a problem.

2. I occasionally got a message asking if I wanted to compact messages. The
way to avoid it coming up when it isn't convenient is to initiate
compacting, which is easy to do. To ensure you compact all folders, place
focus in the first level, the box right above the in-box. (sorry, I forget
what it's called, but you get to it by tabbing to the folders list and
arrowing up once from the in-box.) then press alt-f, followed by f, followed
by another f. Allow a few minutes for compacting to complete.

Hi Dave:

That message about compacting items is what comes up for the client when he
closes. I understand it could take a long time, but we waited probably 10
minutes, and JAWS was giving percentages for a while, then stopped with no
indication what was going on.
