No, its not just the period that's not being spoken. It's also other punctuation like dash and slash in web addresses.

Good morning,Gerald, you showed an example of dot com so first question is does it do itfor all punctuation or just dot? If only dot could it have been placed in the JDF file so it wouldn't be spoken? I've silenced the greater than in this manner. I do not know why the punctuation settings will not change. Good luck, Paul -----Original Message----- From: jfw-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:jfw-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Gerald Levy Sent: Wednesday, March 24, 2010 10:31 AM To: JFW list Subject: Problem With JAWS Punctuation Settings Hi listers. For some unknown reason, JAWS 9 with the IEMax scripts installed has suddenly stopped speaking most punctuation when I browse the web using IE 8. For example, JAWS now speaks "Google.com" as "Google com"with no period between google and com. I checked the verbosity settings by pressing Insert-V, and under the Edit Options, the punctuation level is setto none. But when I checked the Customize Punctuation dialog on the Set Options menu of the JAWS Configuration Manager, the punctuation level is still set to most. But when I try to change it to all and then close the Configuration Manager, I don't get the usual prompt asking f you want to save the changes, so I'm wondering if there is a problem with theConfiguration Manager. I have been using the IEMax scripts for a few weeks with no punctuation problems until now. Interestingly, when I unload JAWS 9 and launch my demo version of JAWS 10 which does not have the IEMax scriptsinstalled, the punctuation is fine with the level set to most in the verbosity dialog, but again, the Configuration Manager does not offer the save changes dialog when I close it. Any idea on how to fix this annoying punctuation problem? Thanks.
