Chris,

Ya know, I've "seen" this in other places on the web, also. Seems as though 
some other web item (such as ckecbox, field name, etc.) is covering enough 
of the edit field so that JAWS doesn't recognize it. I was once able to 
infer the position of the edit box by groping around with the JAWS cursor 
and doing a left click, until quite by happenstance JAWS said "edit". Of 
course I had to presume I was in the correct edit field and just type my 
entry.

It's frustrating, so I can commiserate.

Ok Chip, I'll try some random tabbing and
shift+tabbing.  Strangely, Jaws reads the "register" button fine
and the instructions, but doesn't identify the actual edit field.
