Your spam filter might be part of any antivirus or your service provider. But 
if it's definitely Outlook moving it to a junk mail folder, then:

You can direct Outlook to catch junk mail in the tools/options/preferences tab. 
Look for the junk mail button.

  Can anyone tell me how to do the above.  I've been having a regular 
correspondence with a friend.  On several occasions he sent me emails which I 
did not receive.  Today, after another such incident, I looked in my "junk" 
folder.  It had 70 emails.  About 15 were spam.  The rest were ordinary emails 
from lists and the missing ones from my friend.  I'd rather delete a bit of 
spam than miss important messages.
