The Dell salespersons don't know or choose not to know what accessibility means. Three years ago I made the mistake of believing the salesperson about accessibility and not thoroughly investigating and trying Office 2007 which I ordered on my new computer. I squawked to high heaven about the ribbons and tried like hell to find some help. What was available then was the limp Freedom Scientific training module about Jaws and Magic with Office 2007. When I sought more information, I was advised to use Word's help system.
Now that Kathy has something available, I may give Office 2007 another try.Incidentally, I looked into Office 2010 and wonder if a feature called Backdoor or something like that is indeed the old menu sistem?

The add on menues are a little wonky and take some getting used to for sure. It seems I may be able to put off making the transition for a little while yet. I'm getting a new Dell tower and it's coming loaded with Worx Plus 2008, which supposedly has a version of Word with the comfy cozy menues. But that's just what they told me over the phone, and the rest of the order has involved an extensive tour of Dell's Indian customer service, half of whom doesn't know what the other half has told you.
