Hi. The option in word to scan with open book is to do just what it says. It scans whatever document you have placed in your scanner to scan and brings the document right into word so you can read it, or save it in word.At 09:54 PM 08/24/2005, you wrote:

Arthur,
,
I'm familiar with that item on the Word Files menu. Maybe I misunderstand
what its purpose is, though. It appears as if it's for scanning the
document you have open in Word at that moment. All other items and
commands in the Files menu pertain to the open document that's onscreen.
This doesn't make sense to me. Why would I want to scan something that was
already on my computer, in Word? Is it a command for using open book to
scan something printed that's in the scanner, without first launching Open
Book?

I hope you can understand why I'm confused by this menu item.
Thanks.
