Katherine,

You know something? You're right! What a nice convenience. Personally, I 
just leave my BCC field on, because as I said, it doesn't appear in a 
message when someone receives it, so I can't even imagine why I wouldn't 
want it there if I felt like using it, which I sometimes do.

Regardless, knowing there's a keyboard command to just toggle it on and off 
is pretty nifty. Thanks for the info.

I think, in the body of a message, that you can press alt b and it will also
turn off.
