Hi. Perhaps this can be useful. Why doesn't JAWS read the body of an Outlook Express message = automatically in Window XP with Service Pack 2? http://www.freedomscientific.com/fs_support/BulletinView.cfm?QC=3D744 Answer: This is a focus issue with Microsoft Outlook Express that occurs with or = without JAWS running and is specific to Windows XP Pro with Service Pack = 2. When Outlook Express is set to display all e-mail messages in plain text, the = focus moves to the subject line instead of the body when you open a = message. JAWS reads the subject, but cannot read the message body because that area = does not have the focus. To resolve this issue, change the Read All Messages in Plain Text = option: 1. Start Outlook Express 6.0 or later. 2. From the Tools menu, choose Options. 3. Hold CTRL and press TAB until you move to the Read page. 4. Clear the Read All Messages In Plain Text check box. Alternatively, if you want to keep the plain text setting, press the TAB = key after opening an e-mail message. Then, manually carry out the Say = All command ----- Original Message -----=20 From: "PossAble Consultancy" <lister@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Monday, August 30, 2004 8:30 AM Subject: O E problem after update to JFW and XP Hi folks, I have installed XP Service Pack 2 with no problems as well as the = latest version of JFW 5 from the F.S. site. Previously, when I pressed enter on a message in O E, it read = automatically. Now I have to tab into the message text window and do an = insert down arrow to read the message. Anyone know what has gone wrong?
