in outlook express
under tools
o
for options
control tab to the second page
make sure the first check box
is not checked
mark mail as read
this will help protect, if you want to have the preview pane showing
if it is unchecked
when you tab into the message to read it
and then, tab out of it
it remains unopened
that is how you are protected from it
because there are, emails out there that do not have attachments
and have a virus in it and just down arrowing past them in a list
can activate them,

and anyone who does not have a active antivirus program running to help
keep them
safe,
is begging for trouble,
and believe me there are peple out there
who don't have any safe gards on their computer

When I go through my inbox for new messages I delete those I have no idea as
to where they came from. I feel that by doing this I can delete potential
viruses. When using the preview pane what kind of defense do you hav
against potential viruses that norton doesn't catch? Judith
