I think this update addresses some security vulnerability in JAWS 9, but FS is not specific. The update also includes some enhancements that make JAWS 9 work better with Magic. It's not absolutely necessary to install this update, but it is probably a good idea to do so just to be on the safe side.

 Hi, Gerald,
What does this mean, a new security update? Do you mean security as in antivirus or something? Is it adviseable to go get this thing or, if you're not having any trouble, just leave it alone?
 Thanks.

For those of you still running JAWS 9, a new security update, build 2191, has just been released by FS. You will find it in the Check for Updates option of the JAWS 9 Help menu. Apparently, FS is still providing support for JAWS 9, even though it is an "old " version.
