Allen,
I do not understand your comment. I did not ask why *any* download of a Jaws
program might not work properly. I was referring only to the update function
on the Help menu. When people use this, some say that they damage their Jaws
program and must go to the FS site then and download the entire program, and
install it as a whole program rather than as a patch. My question was why
this update function does not work well for many users, according to what
they say on this mailing list. I was not asking why a download of any type
might not work properly.

I hope this is more clear.

hi Daniel,
sometime, the problem is not on FS site, the update may encounter problem if
the internet connection unstable. so the final result
would be, the update not completely install.

Hey guys,

If downloading and installing an update by using that function in the Jaws
help menu is so destructive, why is this not announced by FS with a caution
not to use it while they repair or improve it? I'm sort of baffled about why
anyone even uses it. I know I didn't, when I not long ago installed the last
update a few weeks ago, because everyone here said it messed the program up.

Thanks.

Hi Dave,

How did you install this update? Through the Help menu or by manually
downloading and installing?

Splendid. What do I do now to overcome these "unknown script called to
reply" etc.?

No. Unfortunately, this issue is not reproduced over here.

Hi, The install of the new 8.0 upgrade went without a hitch.
However after restarting, the usual shortcut keystrokes of control plus N
for new message and Control plus f for forwarding a message result in a
script error.
It is necessary now to use the file menu to perform these tasks.
Anyone else having this trouble?
