Needing refresher on setting temporary place marker on webpage?

Hi guys: Anyone happen to remember the process for setting a temporary place 
marker on a website? I go about this via the control+Shift+k, add, name the 
marker and do Enter, but I seem to want to remember there's an easier way to 
do this?
