Need help with Windows Live Mail, Please.

I am in need of some help with windows Live Mail Useage.  I am unable to "save" 
files that I receive in my in box into a forlder on my desk top.  I am a new 
user with windows 7 and so far any support that I may need is very few and far 
between for my liking.  Is there anybody
 who may help?
