Hi Anna, Browse to: C:\Program Files\Common Files\SpeechEngines\Microsoft\TTS\1033 And see if you have the following files there: sam.sdf sam.spd spttseng.dll If not, you could search for those files and see if they are residing on another drive or else I could send them to you. I'm using Windows xp = pro but if you are using xp home, these files should still apply. If you do indeed have the above files and narrator isn't working then who knows! In utility manager I go to = Narrator=20 and hit start. JFW says 'narrator is running', waits two seconds or so, = and says ' Narrator is not running.' I have run SFC and rebooted, but=20 Narrator is not corrected. I am running JFW5.0812 (but this was true = with=20 4.51 as well) with Windows XP Home and a TrippleTalk PC. Does the = tripple=20 talk somehow befuddle the Narrator speech? Or does the JFW SAPI install = confuse it? I have turned off JFW and tried running Narrator, and no go = there either. Any other suggestions or useful history? thanks, Ann -- To post a message to the list, send it to jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe from this mailing list, send a message to jfw-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the word unsubscribe in the subject line.
