Debbie,

Perhaps you/he can do some searching on ways to remap some unused key on
the laptop to serve as the windows key?  That's what I had to do with my
thinkpad, and now I can bring up narrator any time I need to; I just had
to locate the right registry hack.  It's going to be different for each
model of laptop unfortunately.
